A journalist discovers a novel in which she appears to be the main character and all of her dark secrets are laid bare. The first trailer for the Apple TV Plus series based on Renée Knight’s book doesn’t spell out what those secrets are, but hopefully it’s better than the last time Apple tried a similar concept.
The anime Terminator Zero hits Netflix next month as part of a busy summer of streaming sci-fi. Now we have our first full trailer for the series, which takes place in 1997 just as the Skynet AI becomes self-aware. If nothing else, the new clip will likely get the Smashing Pumpkins stuck in your head.
Just in time for the summer Olympics, Netflix has launched a multiplayer athletics competition with the very on-the-nose title of Sports Sports. It’s available on mobile now (so long as you have a Netflix subscription, of course).

Check out all of The Verge’s coverage of San Diego Comic-Con 2024.
It’s a busy time for Alien fans, with Romulus hitting theaters soon and a TV series in the works. But don’t forget about Rogue Incursion, a promising VR game that got a new trailer at SDCC. It’s launching in holiday 2024.
The pandemic and arrival of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds put the kibosh on a Paramount Plus series built around Michelle Yeoh’s Philippa Georgiou. But the Mirror Universe empress is back in the first trailer for Star Trek: Section 31 — Olatunde Osunsanmi’s upcoming film that will dig deeper into her dark past.
Max has finally given The Penguin a September 19th release date, and the series’ latest trailer pits Oswald Cobblepot (Colin Farrell) against Sofia Falcone (Cristin Milioti) in a war for Gotham’s streets.
The fifth — and final — season of the animated Star Trek spinoff hits Paramount Plus on October 24th. Meanwhile, season 3 of Strange New Worlds starts streaming next year, and you can check out an early clip right here.
It’s hard to believe that Solar Opposites has been running for four years, but Hulu’s new trailer for the show’s upcoming fifth season (due out August 12th) is a showcase of how far Korvo (Dan Steven) and Terry (Thomas Middleditch) have come.
San Diego Comic Con is in full swing starting off strong with new trailers from Transformers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and now Marvel Rivals. The new cinematic trailer lays out the stakes for the game with multiple Dr. Dooms from different timelines summoning teams of Marvel heroes from across the Multiverse. Their job: fight in order to determine which Doom is the doomiest of them all.
Though the new Transformers One trailer doesn’t feature nearly enough of Steve Buscemi’s Starscream, it does reveal quite a bit of the film’s general story — which might be a feature rather than a bug if you were on the fence about catching it in theaters on September 20th.
We’ve all seen Jeff Goldblum lean into his quirkiness, but the menacing regality of his take on Zeus is what really jumps out in the first trailer for Netflix’s upcoming series Kaos due out August 29th.
It has been 20 years since Edgar Wright kicked off his (Three Flavours) Cornetto Trilogy with Shaun of the Dead, and to celebrate the film’s legacy, a remastered cut of it is being re-released in US and UK theaters beginning August 29th and September 27th, respectively.
If Deadpool & Wolverine isn’t enough to satiate your need for one-liners in a blockbuster movie, Borderlands is here for you. The latest trailer is full of even more Guardians of the Galaxy-style humor, much like the game it’s based on, and you can check it out in theaters on August 9th.
Inside me there are two video game wolves: one that loves to blow up ants, and one that loves to build their colonies. While the Earth Defense Force series satisfies one, the other has remained hungry until now. Launching November 7th, Empire of Ants is a new, hyper-realistic ant management simulator that has you finding food, fighting enemy insects and generally living your wildest A Bug’s Life fantasies.
Joker: Folie à Deux’s first teaser didn’t feature nearly enough singing from either Joaquin Phoenix or Lady Gaga. But the film’s new trailer features a promising snippet of the clown prince humming a tune and seemingly starting a revolution as he makes his way to stand trial in Gotham.
Ahead of the debut of Rebel Moon — The Director’s Cut debuting this August, Netflix has whipped up a red band trailer that — compared to the film’s multi-hour runtime — feels like exactly the right amount of Zack Snyder you should consume in one sitting.
Dafne Keen’s performance as Laura in Logan was arguably the best thing about the film, and the character popping up in Deadpool & Wolverine’s latest trailer is probably a sign she’ll be sticking around in the MCU for a while.
Forestrike comes from the same studio behind the excellent indie title Olija, and it allows players to plan out how they approach battle before ever throwing a punch. Unfortunately you’ll have to wait some time to play it — the game launches in 2025.
The final trailer for Alien: Romulus is here, and it viscerally shows just how harrowing facehuggers really are as a concept. The new trailer urges you to check it out in IMAX by teasing some grisly close-ups that will be sure to really pop on a 50-foot high screen.
The Fede Alvarez-directed film opens August 16th.
Fresh off the Euros and Copa America, EA just properly unveiled its next soccer game, which launches on September 27th. Highlights include: women’s teams in career mode (finally!), an arcade-style 5v5 experience called Rush, and an AI-powered model called “FC IQ,” which introduces a complex layer of tactics to the game.
Though there isn’t all that much new to see in Deadpool & Wolverine’s latest trailer, it features our best look yet at the film’s live-action takes on what seems to be the Deadpool Kid (a cowboy variant) and Lady Deadpool (a woman named Wanda with a sick-ass ponytail.)
Based on the game’s first trailer, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants Unleashed developer AHeartfulofGames seems to have nailed the Mutant Mayhem visual style.
Disappointingly, Mutants Unleashed only supports two players. It’s out for PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, and PCs on October 18th.
You probably never heard of the Legend of Starfy series, but it’s not your fault — for some reason Nintendo never released the adorable aquatic platforming games outside of Japan. But now you can rectify that, as the first three GBA titles in the series are available for Switch Online subscribers.
I’ve been (lazily) waiting for Exhausted Man for some time, and now comes word that the game, where you can only move while lying down, will be launching on July 25th. Time to unleash my inner Gudetama.
The demon hunting, speedrunning visual novel launches on Xbox today, after previously hitting Switch, Steam, and PlayStation (it’ll also be available to Game Pass subscribers). I promise that it is just as weird as that description makes it seem — but in a very good way.
There was some hope that The Umbrella Academy might switch up its formula and give the Hargreeves siblings a new kind of adventure for the show’s fourth and final season (out August 8th.)
But Netflix’s new trailer kinda makes it seem like they’ll be doing what they always do — averting an apocalypse of their own making.
