Napoleon: The Director’s Cut has invaded Apple TV Plus.

Ridley Scott’s Napoleon was already huge (runtime-wise) when it hit Apple TV Plus back in March, but with “48 minutes of new, never-before-seen footage,” the new Director’s Cut that has just hit the streamer (right on time for Labor Day weekend) is even bigger.

Kiryu-chaaaaan ~ !

That sound you heard was Goro Majima from Yakuza Kiwami, the final game on display during today’s Nintendo Partner Showcase. Yakuza Kiwami is a remake of the first Yakuza game and it’s finally making its Nintendo Switch debut October 24th. Hopefully, the game does well enough that we will get the rest of the stellar series ported over to the Switch.

Yes, that’s Civilization 7 on the Switch.

Civilization 7 will be everywhere, including the Nintendo Switch. During today’s Indie World / Partner Showcase, Firaxis showed off what Civ 7 will look like on the Nintendo Switch. Expect the same gameplay that will let you mix and match your civs and leaders and change civs as you go through history, but maybe temper your expectations on graphics. Civilization 7 launches on console, PC, and Mac February 11th.

Capcom’s digging up all the old classics.

Hot on the heels of Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection, Capcom’s gone back in their impressive-ass vault to pull out another collection of classic fighting games. Capcom Fighting Collection 2 bundles together eight games including Capcom vs. SNK, its sequel, both Power Stone games, and more. No release date yet, but expect the game to come out sometime 2025.

Megalopolis’ new trailer is gunning for the haters.

Megalopolis latest trailer makes it even harder to get a good read of what to expect from the film, but it’s worth it just for Lionsgate’s selection of quotes about Francis Ford Coppola’s previous work.

Update: Lionsgate has removed the trailer, saying it “screwed up,” after people called out the quotes for being made up or misattributed.

One more thing.

ONL ended with a very brief tease for the Mafia: the Old Country, which is set in 1900s Sicily and will “uncover the origins of organized crime.” It launches some time in 2025.

Peter Molyneux returns to god games.

After some, let’s say, detours, the veteran designer and his 22cans studio have revealed a more traditional strategy game called Masters of Albion, which at the very least has some cool interface ideas. Here’s the first trailer.

It’s the freakin’ bat!

Batman: Arkham Shadow is the next entry in the Batman: Arkham series but with a twist...it’s in VR. Camouflaj, the studio known for another superhero VR experience, Iron Man VR, debuted the first gameplay trailer during Opening Night Live 2024. Arkham Shadow will be a full-length, VR game launching exclusively on the Meta Quest 3 sometime in October.

Rivalry is so dated.

And by that, I mean, of course, that the Overwatch-like multiplayer game Marvel Rivals finally has a release date. It’ll be hitting PC, Xbox, and PlayStation on December 6th.

Monument Valley 3 is coming to Netflix.

It’s been years since the game was first revealed, and now we not only have a first look, but also news that MV3 will be launching on December 10th — exclusively on Netflix. The first two games in the series, meanwhile, will hit Netflix in September and October.

Bloom & Rage and a mystery.

The new trailer for Lost Records — the next release from Life is Strange studio Don’t Nod — looks all heartwarming and cozy, until it becomes very clear there’s a dark secret at its core. The game’s first episode launches on February 18th, with another a month later.

The goat is back.

One of the strangest games of the past decade is getting remastered. The updated version of Goat Simulator, which first launched back in 2014, will include all of the game’s DLCs, along with new visuals and some quality-of-life tweaks. It’s launching later this year.

Another look at Black Ops 6.

Ahead of the next Call of Duty’s debut in October, Activision has provided yet another trailer for the game, this time walking viewers through a campaign mission full of trademark Call of Duty action set pieces. For those who haven’t been keeping track: the shooter will be coming to Game Pass and might even have a reasonable download size.

Mortals will die in Netflix’s Kaos as the greek gods lash out at humanity for their lack of faith, but the series’ latest trailer kinda makes hades look more like a monochromatic drag than a tortuous hellscape.

There’s a new Elder Scrolls game coming soon.

But it’s not Elder Scrolls VI. Instead, Bethesda’s sword and board series is getting its own version of Fallout Shelter called The Elder Scrolls: Castles. You’ll be tasked with building the perfect medieval domicile with all the amenities to keep your subjects happy, healthy, and therefore, less likely to stab you.

The Elder Scrolls: Castles launches on iOS and Android on September 10th.

Kraven has got a taste for Rhino meat.

Though Sony’s upcoming Kraven the Hunter feature probably won’t feature any Spider-Man cameos, the movie’s latest trailer is a reminder that at the very least, we’ll be seeing another Rhino variant when the movie hits theaters on December 13th.

There are two Wolfs inside you, and they’re both trying to hide a body.

Wolfs — Apple’s upcoming comedy about a pair of fixers forced to become partners — actually sounds like a pretty solid movie. And its latest trailer almost makes it easy to understand why a sequel has already been greenlit ahead of Wolfs’ theatrical release on September 20th and Apple TV Plus streaming debut on September 27th.
